Mesut Ozil says he would have loved to have played with Robert Pires for Arsenal...
Mesut Ozil has revealed that he would have loved to have lined up with Robert Pires for Arsenal when asked which former Gunner he would have most wanted to play alongside.
The Arsenal playmaker took part in a question and answer session on Twitter on Friday and one fan asked the Germany international which former Gunner he would have most liked to have played with.
And the World Cup winner did not take long to respond as he ignored the likes of Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry and picked former France international Pires.
Ozil said in the video above: “I would play with Robert Pires.”
Ozil has been one of the Premier League’s standout performers this season. The 27-year-old has notched up 16 assists in the top flight and scored three goals to help Arsene Wenger’s men move two points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Arsenal host Sunderland at Emirates Stadium in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.
