Mesut Ozil could not hide his delight after watching Arsenal kick off their defence of the FA Cup title with a 3-1 victory over Sunderland at The Emirates.

Arsene Wenger opted to rest the Germany international for Saturday’s clash in north London with next week’s crunch clash against Liverpool at Anfield in mind.

Ozil was pictured in the stands at the Gunners’ home ground as he cheered on his team-mates against the Black Cats on Saturday afternoon.

And the Germany international was clearly thrilled to see Arsenal beat Sam Allardyce’s men in front of their home fans.
