Michael Owen believes that Manchester United are set to struggle when they come up against Derby County in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday night.

The Red Devils head into the game looking to return to winning ways after the disappointment of their 1-0 loss to Southampton in the Premier League last weekend.

United’s stuttering form has heaped pressure on manager Louis van Gaal, with the Dutchman’s side now having only won two of their last 10 Premier League games.

Van Gaal watched his side reach the FA Cup fourth round with a nervy 1-0 win over Sheffield United earlier this month.

And former Manchester United striker is tipping the Red Devils to fail to beat Derby in the fourth-round clash on Friday night.

Writing in his column for Bet Victor, Owen said: “United have won the last six FA Cup meetings between the teams but both sides go into the tie on the back of a disappointing result in their respective divisions.

“The Rams will fancy their chances of an upset, and I think their name will still be in the hat for the fifth Round on Monday although they may have to settle for a replay.”

United, who were dumped out of the Champions League at the group stage last month, are currently five points adrift of the top four in the Premier League.
