Michael Owen states his prediction for Liverpool v Arsenal
Michael Owen is expecting to see a draw between Arsenal and Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night
Michael Owen is expecting Liverpool to hold Arsenal to a draw in Wednesday night’s crunch Premier League clash at Anfield.
The north London side head to Merseyside looking to preserve their two-point lead at the top of the Premier League table as they aim to win their first top-flight title since their famous unbeaten triumph back in 2003-04.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are looking to find some consistent form after a stuttering start to life under new manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds have recorded impressive wins over the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City since the German’s appointment but have also slumped to losses to Watford and West Ham United in recent weeks.
Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Owen is expecting a tight game which will end in a draw – a result he believe will suit the Gunners more than the home side.
Owen wrote in his column for Bet Victor: “We will know more about the Gunners’ and their title aspirations after their trip to a Liverpool side who have scored just 22 goals in their 20 Premier League games to date.
“No Alexis Sanchez for the league leaders, who will have to stand up and be counted at Anfield; a draw might suit Arsene Wenger more than Jurgen Klopp and I think both sides will have to settle for a point.”
Liverpool are currently eighth in the Premier League table.
