Michael Owen states his prediction for Newcastle v Man United
Michael Owen says there is little to separate Newcastle United and Manchester United ahead of Tuesday's game
Michael Owen believes that Newcastle United could have the edge heading into their Premier League clash with Manchester United at St James’ Park on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils travel to face the Magpies looking to build on their recent victories over Swansea City and Sheffield United.
Louis van Gaal’s side have been far from convincing in recent weeks and their win over the Swans at the turn of the year was their first victory in eight games in all competitions.
Former United striker Owen believes that Tuesday’s game at St James’ Park will be an evenly contested affair, and is backing Steve McLaren’s men to have the edge during the game.
Owen wrote in his column for Bet Victor: “The Magpies have lost their last four competitive games by the only goal of the game and it would be a surprise if we saw a goal fest at St James’s Park between two of my old clubs.
“There is likely to be little between the sides and perhaps the value lies with the hosts.”
