Michael Owen is backing Stoke City to frustrate Arsenal by holding the Gunners to a draw at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners head into the game looking to return to winning ways after they were forced to settle for a point at Anfield against Liverpool in Wednesday’s thrilling 3-3 draw on Merseyside.

That result meant that Arsenal headed into this weekend’s round of fixtures top of the Premier League able on goal difference from second-placed Leicester City.

Stoke have managed to frustrate Arsenal at the Britannia Stadium in recent years – and Mark Hughes’ men head into the game on the back of their 3-1 home win over Norwich City in midweek.

And former Liverpool forward Owen is tipping Stoke to claim at least a point from Sunday’s showdown with the Gunners.

Owen wrote in his column for Bet Victor: “After throwing away a lead at Anfield midweek Arsene Wenger’s side head to the Britannia for a fixture that has been notoriously difficult for the Gunners in recent times.

“Stoke have lost just one of their last seven home Premier League games with Arsenal and moved up to seventh in the table with a 3-1 defeat of Norwich midweek.

“Spread across five different clubs Mark Hughes is yet to taste defeat on home soil as a manager with Arsene Wenger in the opposite dug-out and I expect that unbeaten record to continue in the Potteries.”
