Michael Owen reacts to Liverpool’s 5-4 thriller at Norwich City
Michael Owen says Jurgen Klopp's reaction after Liverpool's winner was the celebration of the season
Michael Owen described Jurgen Klopp’s reaction to Liverpool’s winner as the celebration of the season after Saturday’s 5-4 victory over Norwich City.
Adam Lallana secured a dramatic victory for the Reds after Sebastien Bassong had made it 4-4 in the first minute of added time.
Klopp raced down the touchline to celebrate the England international’s late goal and lost his glasses in the process.
Speaking on BT Sport after the nine-goal thriller, Owen discussed an open game at Carrow Road and Klopp’s goal celebration.
“There weren’t any outstanding performances out there,” Owen said.
“What a game. The ups and downs. When Hoolahan scored the penalty, you though it could be the turning point in their season.”
Owen added: “This was the celebration of the season. It was hilarious. Look at the passion and the emotion.”
Earlier, Roberto Firmino made the first-half breakthrough with a close-range finish before Dieumerci Mbokani and Steven Naismith overturned the scoreline.
Wes Hoolahan appeared to put the game out of Liverpool’s reach from the penalty spot after Alberto Moreno fouled Naismith inside Simon Mignolet’s area.

However, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson scored 96 seconds later to equalise before James Milner edged the Reds into the lead with 15 minutes remaining.
But Lallana scored Liverpool’s fifth in the 95th minute after Bassong’s leveller.
