Michael Owen states his prediction for Man United v Southampton

Michael Owen is tipping Manchester United to make it back to back wins in the Premier League when they host Southampton at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over bitter rivals Liverpool at Anfield last weekend to move them up to fifth place in the Premier League table and just two points behind Tottenham in fourth.
United have struggled to string together a series of consistent results in the Premier League and have only won three of their last 10 top-flight games.
However, former England and Liverpool striker Owen is expecting to see Louis van Gaal’s men beat the Saints comfortably at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Owen wrote in his blog for Bet Victor: “Last week’s prediction of a cagey, nervous 90 minutes at Anfield proved correct with United beating Liverpool by the solitary goal on Merseyside and cut to 22/1 (from 40s) with BetVictor to be crowned Champions.
“The win will have given both the manager and skipper a massive lift with Wayne Rooney’s late winner keeping Louis Van Gaal’s side within touching distance of Manchester City and Arsenal in the PL Title race.
“Rooney looks rejuvenated in 2016 and has now scored five goals in his last four games since netting United’s winner in the 2-1 defeat of Swansea at Old Trafford. Despite receiving plenty of criticism Rooney now has 15 goals from 31 games for club and country in all competitions this season and can fire United to victory against the Saints.”

United finished fourth in Van Gaal’s first season in charge but were dumped out of the Champions League in the group stage when they were beaten by Wolfsburg last month.
