Tottenham Hotspur will be the happiest team in the Premier League title race, according to Pat Nevin.

The north London side are five points behind surprise leaders Leicester City after their brilliant 3-1 win at Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

Harry Kane cancelled out Jan Vertonghen’s first-half own goal before Dele Alli and Nacer Chadli netted superb goals to secure three points.

Speaking to Irish radio station Newstalk, former Chelsea midfielder Nevin explained why he believes Tottenham can push Arsenal all the way in the title race.

“The happiest team of them all is Spurs,” Nevin said.

“They’re just sneaking up there on the ropes and two points behind Arsenal. If you put a Tottenham and Arsenal team out there right now, you wouldn’t put a hell of a lot of money on Arsenal winning it.”

Tottenham have only lost three games in the Premier League this season following defeats by Manchester United, Newcastle United and Leicester.

Spurs make the trip League One side Colchester United in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday’s early game.
