Paul Scholes reacts to Man United’s 1-0 win over Sheffield Utd
Paul Scholes was not impressed by Manchester United's performance against Sheffield United on Saturday...
Paul Scholes described Manchester United’s performance as “not good enough” after Wayne Rooney’s stoppage-time penalty earned them a 1-0 win over Sheffield United and booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
The Red Devils were disappointing throughout the third-round clash at Old Trafford and only had two shots on target during the whole game in front of their frustrated home fans.

Substitute Memphis Depay was fouled inside the area in added time and Rooney stepped up to score and send the hosts through to the fourth round.
The display left a lot to be desired and although Scholes feels that manager Louis van Gaal will be satisfied with the result, the Manchester United legend admits that there is plenty of room for improvement.
Speaking on BT Sport after the final whistle, Scholes said: “It wasn’t a great performance.
“Will he [Van Gaal] be happy with it? I think he probably will be. That’s the way he likes his team to play football. We’ve seen nothing different now for the last six months. He’ll be happy with the 1-0 win.
“He constantly comes out and says he’s happy with his team and the way they’re playing.
“But they had to win a game against a League One side with a penalty in the 94th minute. In my eyes it’s not good enough.”
