Adnan Januzaj is back in action for Manchester United's Under-21 side

Adnan Januzaj made his long-awaited return to action in a Manchester United shirt on Monday night.

The Belgium international scored twice for United’s Under-21s in a 4-0 victory over Southampton in his first game since the winger returned to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund on loan.

Januzaj’s loan spell was cut short after the United forward struggled to secure a regular starting spot in Thomas Tuchel’s Dortmund side following his move in August.

Louis van Gaal’s United outfit have struggled to score goals for much of the season, with Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney their only goal threat.

However, Januzaj appears to be ready to step back into the fold for the United first-team after his brace against Southampton’s Under-21 side.

Januzaj posted the above photo and wrote on his Instagram page: “Good to be back on the pitch 🙏”
