Andy Murray has taken to social media to reveal his delight at reaching the second round of the Australian Open.

The 28-year-old Scot made light work of his opening match against German teenager Alexander Zverev as he won 6-1 6-2 6-3.

Murray will now take on Australian Sam Groth in the second round in Melbourne.

And Murray used his personal Instagram account to admit that he was missing his dogs, who are back home in the UK.

Murray posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Always nice to get through the first round of any tournament… Happy with the start today.

“Whilst I was out there sweating in 35 degrees this little monkey was chilling in the snow. Always miss my dogs when I’m on the road.”
