Arsenal star Mesut Ozil posts his thoughts on new Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane on his Instagram page
Mesut Ozil has endorsed Real Madrid’s appointment of Zinedine Zidane as their new manager.
The France legend was presented to the world’s media as Rafael Benitez’s successor after the Spaniard was sacked just six months into his reign at The Bernabeu.
The 43-year-old has become the 11th manager to be appointed by outspoken Los Blancos chief Florentino Perez during his 12 years as club president.
Ozil, who moved to Arsenal in a club-record £42.5m deal from Real Madrid in August 2013, took to Instagram to have his say on his former club’s new head coach.
Ozil wrote: “A good decision! 😉👍 One of the greatest football players of all time is Real Madrid head coach now! ☺ All the best to #Zizou! #RealMadrid #Zidane #legend #BeTheDifference”
The 27-year-old midfielder won La Liga and Copa del Rey during a three-year stay in the Spanish capital.
Ozil scored 27 goals in 159 appearances for the 10-time European champions before he was sold to Arsenal two-and-a-half years ago.
Ozil has won back-to-back FA Cup crowns during his stay at the north London club.
