Man United goalkeeper David De Gea sends birthday message to Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke
David De Gea sent a warm message to his best friend in football Koke on the midfielder’s 24th birthday after reports of a potential move to Manchester United.
The Spain international has been regularly linked with a move to Old Trafford over the past three months amid reported interest from defending Premier League champions Chelsea, too.
Koke has been a mainstay of Diego Simeone’s successful Atletico Madrid side over the past few seasons, invariably prompting talk of a big-money transfer away from Vicente Calderon.
And United supporters will be hoping De Gea’s friendship Koke could prove useful in any reported bid from the 20-time English champions for the playmaker.
De Gea wrote to the birthday boy: “Best friends in football! Happy birthday bro @koke6”
Koke has scored two goals and has made three assists in 15 games in the Spanish top-flight so far this season.
