Chelsea captain John Terry appears to have been impressed with Ruben Loftus-Cheek's first Blues goal
John Terry appears to be a big fan of Ruben Loftus-Cheek after the Chelsea captain congratulated the youngster on his first senior goal for the Blues.
The England Under-21 international sealed the west London side’s place in the fourth-round FA Cup draw after he scored Chelsea’s second in a 2-0 victory over Scunthorpe at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Loftus-Cheek has found his first-team opportunities limited this season after struggling to break into Jose Mourinho’s ailing Chelsea side at the start of the season.
However, the young midfielder appears to have a bright future under new manager Guus Hiddink and will hope to add to his four Premier League appearances.
And Chelsea skipper Terry is certainly an admirer after the 34-year-old centre-half dedicated a message to Loftus-Cheek on Sunday night.
Terry wrote: “Congratulations to @rubey_lcheek on his goal today ⚽️ In the hat for the next round F.A Cup @chelseafc”
Loftus-Cheek has only started one Premier League game so far this season, although the Blues youngster has made a further three appearances from the substitutes’s bench.
