Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson reserves special praise for the Reds midfielders after 3-3 draw with Arsenal
Jordan Henderson reserved special praise for Roberto Firmino and Joe Allen after Liverpool’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday night.
The £29m summer signing gave Liverpool into a 10th-minute lead thanks to a close-range finish before Aaron Ramsey levelled with a close-range finish at Simon Mignolet’s near post.
The former Hoffenheim playmaker restored Liverpool’s slender lead with the goal of the night before Giroud levelled the game with half-time looming.
Arsenal appeared to be heading for three points when Giroud scored his second in the 55th minute but Allen came off the bench to net a 90th-minute equaliser for the hosts.
And Henderson was particularly impressed with Firmino’s performance, whilst praising Allen for his composed equaliser on the stroke of full-time.
Henderson wrote: “Lots of positives to take out the game! Well done @roberto_firmino on his goals 🔥and joe Allen to get the equaliser! Look forward to Sunday.”
Liverpool are in ninth place in the Premier League table and five points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
