Liverpool confirm the signing of Marko Grujic from Red Star Belgrade on social media

Liverpool have unveiled Marko Grujic as their first signing of the January transfer window.

The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a long-term Liverpool deal after the Reds agreed a fee with Red Star Belgrade for the midfielder in December.

The Serbian teenager passed a medical earlier this week before Liverpool finalised their first signing of the month in a reported £5.1m deal.

The five-time European champions posted the above photo on Instagram, whilst the Reds also kept their Twitter followers updated on their latest transfer activity.

Grujic is set to return to Red Star on loan until the end of the season after completing his January deal.

Liverpool are thought to have beaten Premier League rivals Manchester United to the 19-year-old’s signature, with Russian clubs CSKA Moscow and Zenit St Petersburg also linked with Grujic.
