Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele appears to have a penchant for a game of chess
Mousa Dembele kept his mind active despite a rare day off as the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder enjoyed a game of chess with friends.
The Belgium international continued his excellent form with Tottenham’s second goal in a 4-1 victory over Sunderland at White Hart Lane in Saturday’s early kick-off.
Dembele has blossomed into one of the north London side’s chief architects in the heart of the Tottenham midfield over the course of the 2015/16 campaign.
And perhaps a game of chess helps Dembele to see the bigger picture on the pitch as he looked to beat a friend in Antwerp on Sunday afternoon.
Dembele posted the above photo and wrote: “Lazy Sunday with the boys.. 🔱”
Mauricio Pochettino’s side fell behind in Saturday’s early kick-off after Patrick van Aanholt gave Sunderland a 40th minute lead in north London.
However, Christian Eriksen scored his first goal since 4 October in the Premier League to level before half-time and Eriksen added a third after Mousa Dembele’s brilliant goal.
Harry Kane scored his 12th Premier League goal of the season to seal three points to make amends for their 1-0 loss to Leicester City at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.
