Marko Grujic has taken to social media to reveal his delight at becoming Liverpool’s first signing of the January transfer window.

The midfielder signed for the Reds on Wednesday from Red Star Belgrade in a deal believed to be worth around £5.1m.

The 19-year-old has immediately been sent back to the Serb club on loan and join up with the Premier League side on 1 July.

And Grujic could not hide his delight at securing a transfer to the Premier League club via a post on social media.

Grujic shared the picture above on his personal Instagram account on Wednesday evening and wrote: “So proud,so happy,after red and white I became red! #ynwa @liverpoolfc @ynwagram”

Liverpool, who were 1-0 winners over Stoke City in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final on Tuesday night, take on Exeter in the third round of the FA Cup on Friday night.

The Reds endured a disappointing start to the year in the Premier League as they slumped to a 2-0 loss at West Ham last weekend.
