Piers Morgan sends message to Arsenal star on Twitter after Newcastle win

Piers Morgan heaps praise on Petr Cech for keeping a crucial clean sheet in Arsenal's 1-0 win over Newcastle on Saturday

Piers Morgan took to social media to heap praise on Petr Cech after the goalkeeper kept a clean sheet in Arsenal’s battling 1-0 win over Newcastle United at Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Arsene Wenger’s men were made to work hard for the win by a hard-working Magpies side in north London on a frustrating afternoon for the Gunners – but Arsenal held on to claim their first win of 2016 and confirm their status as genuine Premier League title contenders.

After a goalless first half, Laurent Koscielny reacted quickest to finish into the bottom corner after Mesut Ozil’s corner fell to him in the 72nd minute at a rain-soaked Emirates Stadium.

But rather than praise the goal-scorer Koscielny, Morgan turned to the other side of the pitch to praise Cech for his heroics in the Arsenal goal.

Morgan tweeted on Saturday after the game:
