Joao Teixeira reflects on a special night at Anfield for the Liverpool midfielder

Joao Teixeira has taken to Instagram to reflect on his first Liverpool goal at Anfield.

The Portuguese midfielder was a bright spark in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield for the visit of Exeter City in their FA Cup third-round replay on Wednesday night.

Joe Allen and Sheyi Ojo scored either side of half-time to all but seal Liverpool’s place in the fourth round after a 2-2 draw with Exeter at St James’s Park earlier this month.

But Teixeira was rewarded for a slick performance with his first Liverpool goal in front of the Kop as the former Sporting Lisbon youngster sealed a 3-0 win with six minutes remaining.

The 23-year-old, who celebrated his birthday on Tuesday ahead of the FA Cup replay, posted a photo of his goal on his Instagram page and wrote:

“Great win tonight , the boys played very well . Happy for my first goal at Anfield ⚽️🙏🏽”

Liverpool will face West Ham United in the FA Cup fourth round at Anfield.
