Robbie Savage discusses Tottenham Hotspur’s title prospects

Robbie Savage says Tottenham Hotspur are outsiders for the Premier League title

Robbie Savage says Tottenham Hotspur are outsiders for the Premier League title after their 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Toffees eased into a first-half lead against the run of play after Aaron Lennon netted a sumptuous volley against his former employers in the 22nd minute.

Spurs are massive outsiders for the title

However, England international Dele Alli equalised before half-time after Tottenham’s rising star guided Toby Alderweireld’s floated cross past Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard.

The visitors hit the woodwork twice on Merseyside but Mauricio Pochettino’s side couldn’t find a winner and Spurs are six points adrift of leaders Arsenal after their stalemate.

Former Leicester City midfielder Savage explained why he believes Tottenham are still outsiders for the Premier League crown despite being the division’s form side.

“Great game, I think probably a draw was fair,” Savage told BBC Sport.

“Tottenham dominated the first-half but trailed from a great goal by Aaron Lennon. Then Dele Alli’s finish put them in level at the break. At times it was end to end but that was a fair result.”

Savage added: “Spurs are massive outsiders for the title but anything other than top four challenge will be a real failure.”
