Robbie Savage pinpoints the player Liverpool should sign
Robbie Savage has his say on Liverpool's transfer plans for the summer
Robbie Savage has told Jurgen Klopp to go all out to try and sign Jack Butland in the summer transfer window.
The Reds have inevitably been linked with a host of stars this month as the German coach considers bolstering his squad during the January transfer window.
Current Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has come in for plenty of criticism in recent weeks, despite the Belgium international signing a new contract with the Anfield outfit this month.
However, former midfielder Savage feels that the Reds should try and make a move to sign Butland from Stoke City this summer.
Savage told BBC Sport: “If I was the manager of Liverpool, what I would be doing in the summer is putting a bid for Jack Butland.
“That’s what I would be doing, and keep Mignolet as back-up. That’s what I would do.”
Liverpool secured a thrilling 5-4 win over Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon as they moved up to seventh place in the Premier League table.
The Reds host Stoke City at Anfield on Tuesday night as they look to book their place in the League Cup final.
