Santi Cazorla sends message to Nacho Monreal after new Arsenal contract

Arsenal star Santi Cazorla congratulates Nacho Monreal on long-term Gunners contract

Santi Cazorla has sent a message of congratulations to Nacho Monreal after the defender signed a new Arsenal contract on Tuesday.

The Spain international put pen to paper on a new long-term Arsenal contract after helping the Gunners secure a point in a goalless draw with Stoke City on Sunday afternoon.

Monreal has made 113 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions following his move to the Gunners from La Liga side Malaga in January 2013.

The Spanish defender has established himself as Arsenal’s first-choice left-back ahead of Kieran Gibbs in the 2015/16 season so far.

Cazorla, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury, posted a Twitter message for his compatriot after Monreal secured his long-term future in north London.

Monreal has won back-to-back FA Cups since his move to the Emirates Stadium from Malaga three years ago.
