Sinclair, Tottenham and more: Twitter pays tribute to Jenas after retirement
Charlie Austin, Trevor Sinclair and Tottenham Hotspur send message to newly-retired Jermaine Jenas
Jermaine Jenas announced his retirement from professional football on Thursday.
The former England international has been without a club for the past 18 months due to a knee injury after he was released by Championship side Queens Park Rangers in 2014.
Jenas featured for Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and QPR during a 14-year playing career in the Premier League and the Championship.
The 32-year-old, who earned 21 caps during his England career, has regularly featured on BBC’S Football Focus and Match Of The Day coverage this season.
Here is some of the best Twitter tributes to Jenas after he finished with career figures of 46 goals in 431 games in all competitions over the past 15 seasons.
BBC Sport host Gabby Logan thanks Jenas for his contribution to Newcastle:
