Steve McManaman makes prediction about Arsenal, Man City in title race
Steve McManaman says Arsenal and Manchester City will compete for this season's Premier League title
Steve McManaman says Arsenal and Manchester City will battle it out for the Premier League title.
The Gunners host defending Premier League champions Chelsea on Sunday afternoon as Arsene Wenger’s side look to beat the Blues for the first time since 2011.
The Citizens are looking to win their third Premier League crown since 2012 and their second under current manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur occupy the final top-four spots, but former Liverpool midfielder McManaman believes only Arsenal and City will battle for the title until the end of the season.
Speaking to BT Sport on Saturday morning ahead of City’s clash against West Ham United at Upton Park, McManaman declared that only two teams would compete for this season’s title.
Asked how many teams would be involved in the title race in the final weeks of the season, McManaman replied: ““Arsenal and Manchester City.”
Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since Wenger’s players went unbeaten in the 2003/04 season.
The Gunners have won back-to-back FA Cups over the past two seasons.
