Thierry Henry sends blunt warning to Arsenal over Tottenham
Thierry Henry says Tottenham Hotspur are genuine Premier League title contenders this season
Thierry Henry has warned Arsenal that Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as genuine title contenders following this weekend’s results.
Arsenal headed into the weekend top of the table on goal difference but have dropped down to third place after they were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea at Emirates Stadium.
Tottenham, meanwhile, moved to within just two points of their bitter local rivals after their 3-1 win at Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Leicester are currently top of the table in front of second-placed Manchester City, who are level on points with Arsenal but in second place on goal difference.
And Henry has fired a blunt warning at Arsene Wenger’s side after a weekend in which he believes Spurs have officially joined the title race.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Henry said: “Tottenham, now, coming from nowhere, are two points behind Arsenal.
“No-one has been talking about Tottenham winning the title. But now, they’re in it.
“It is a four-team race for the title.”
Arsenal’s next Premier League game is a home clash against Southampton on Tuesday 2 February. Tottenham, meanwhile, travel to Norwich City on the same day.
