Ian Wright and Ray Parlour both tweet their thoughts as Arsenal battle to a 1-0 win over Newcastle United at The Emirates
Laurent Koscielny scored the only goal of the game as Arsenal kept their place at the top of the Premier League table thanks to a battling 1-0 win over Newcastle United at Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The home side were made to work hard for the victory by a battling Magpies side in north London on a frustrating afternoon for the Gunners but Arsenal held on to claim their first win of 2016 and underline their status as Premier League title contenders.
After a goalless first half, Koscielny reacted quickest to finish into the bottom corner after Mesut Ozil’s corner fell to him in the 72nd minute at Emirates Stadium.
The win left Arsenal two points clear at the top of the Premier League table after second-placed Leicester City were held to a goalless draw at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
