Alan Shearer reacts on Twitter to Man United loss

Alan Shearer was not impressed by Manchester United's performance on Thursday...

Alan Shearer has taken to social media to express his surprise at Manchester United’s abject performance during their 2-1 loss to Midtjylland in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The Red Devils slumped to a disappointing loss to the Danish champions as they slumped to back to back defeats following their 2-1 reversal at Sunderland last weekend.

The result has heaped further pressure on United boss Louis van Gaal, whose side are fifth in the Premier League and six points adrift of the top four heading into the final 12 games of the season.

Goalkeeper Sergio Romero was drafted in to replace David De Gea at the last minute after United’s first-choice shot-stopper suffered an injury in the warm-up.

And Shearer believes that Romero was United’s best performer on the night.
