The Spurs shot-stopper was once again in fine form as he helped Mauricio Pochettino’s men come from a goal down to beat Swansea City 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The result kept Spurs firmly in the title race, with the Lilywhites now two points behind leaders Leicester heading into the final 11 games of the season.
And as the north London side prepare for their Premier League trip to West Ham United on Wednesday night, Shearer has been heaping praise on Spurs’ France international goalkeeper.
Speaking on Match of the Day 2, Shearer said: “Any team that won the Premier League had a top-class goalkeeper. And Spurs have got a top-class goalkeeper.
“He made two world-class saves. I don’t mind seeing them three times, it’s that good. He wins them so many points.”
Spurs’ win over Swansea pulled them three points clear of bitter local rivals Arsenal ahead of next Saturday’s crunch clash with the Gunners at White Hart Lane.
The Gunners lost ground in the title race as they were beaten 3-2 by Manchester United on Sunday.
