Alexandre Pato makes promise to Chelsea supporters

Alexandre Pato is determined to enjoy a successful loan spell at Chelsea until the summer

Alexandre Pato has promised Chelsea fans that he will give his all in the final months of the season as he bids to make the most of his loan spell in west London.

The Brazilian joined the Blues on a temporary deal from Corinthians until the end of the current campaign to add to Chelsea’s attacking line-up for the rest of the season.

Pato is yet to make his first appearance for the Blues after sitting out Wednesday’s goalless draw with Watford.

However, the Brazilian has been working on his fitness at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground and will be hoping to prove himself as ready for action in time for Manchester United’s trip to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

And speaking in an exclusive interview with Chelsea’s website, Pato has promised to give his all for the club.

He said: “I know I only have a few months until the end of the season but what I can promise is that I am prepared to do my best, and I am prepared to play to the best of my ability to help during the few months left of the campaign.”

The striker continued: “I feel very good physically. Obviously as a player you need game time to be at your best but I feel prepared, I have been training well, and hopefully with games and time I can adapt.

“I have heard a lot about the Premier League and I had the chance to play against English opposition when I was at AC Milan, including Chelsea. It’s a different league, very hard, very physical, with a lot of contact, and hopefully with my pace and my ability I will be able to help the team. I’m hoping to contribute a lot and have a great time here.”

Pato has been handed the number 11 shirt at Chelsea following his loan move.
