Alexis Sanchez has admitted that Arsenal will have their work cut out in trying to keep Lionel Messi at bay when they host Barcelona on Tuesday night.

The Gunners head into the game looking to return to winning ways after they were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Hull City in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

Ballon d’Or winner Messi will be one of Barcelona’s main attacking threats when the Spanish side travel to north London next week.

And Sanchez has revealed that he and his Arsenal team-mates have been working on a plan to help keep the Argentina international at bay.

Sanchez is quoted as saying by Sky Sports: “We know it won’t be easy.

“[Messi] is the best footballer in the world, without a doubt. It’s very difficult to stop him but we will work on it. And remember, Barcelona is not only Leo…”

Sanchez has recently made his return to action for Arsenal after a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
