Alexis Sanchez sends Neymar a message on Instagram ahead of Arsenal's trip to Bournemouth

Alexis Sanchez has taken to social media to wish Neymar a happy birthday after the Brazilian forward turned 24 on Friday.

The pair played together during Sanchez’s time at Barcelona, before he left the Spanish club to join Arsenal in the summer of 2014.

Neymar has earned a reputation as one of Europe’s top players in recent years and finished third behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the voting for the 2015 Ballon d’Or.

And Sanchez was quick to pay tribute to his former team-mate on Instagram on Saturday.

Sanchez posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Feliz cumple Ney. Una Gran persona. Joga bonito. Happy birthday Ney and a great person.”

Sanchez, who recently made his return from a hamstring injury, and his Arsenal team-mates are currently gearing up for their trip to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners are looking to return to winning ways after they were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Southampton at Emirates Stadium in midweek.
