Andrea Pirlo gushes with praise for Mesut Ozil ahead of Bournemouth v Arsenal
Andrea Pirlo is a big fan of a certain Arsenal playmaker...
Andrea Pirlo has heaped praise on Mesut Ozil, claiming that the Arsenal playmaker is the most creative footballer in the world.
The Germany international has earned plenty of new admirers this season following his sparkling form for Arsenal in midfield.
Ozil, 27, has made 16 assists and scored three goals in 22 Premier League games for the north London side to help Arsene Wenger’s men launch their title challenge.
He also scored twice in the Champions League group stage to help the Gunners through to the last 16 of Europe’s elite club competition.
And the 36-year-old Pirlo has been thoroughly impressed by what he has seen from Ozil in an Arsenal shirt so far this season.
Pirlo is quoted as saying by Metro: “He creates an unbelievable amount of chances for attackers playing ahead of him.
“He has vision like nobody else in Europe. Maybe the most creative player in Europe right now.”
Ozil will be expecting to start when Arsenal travel to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday lunchtime looking to return to winning ways after their goalless draw with Southampton last week.
A win for the Gunners would move them up to third place.
