Andrei Kanchelskis has claimed that Memphis Depay has all the necessary ingredients to become the best winger in the world at Manchester United.

The Dutchman has struggled to produce consistent performances for the Red Devils following his big-money move to Old Trafford from PSV Eindhoven in the summer transfer window.

Depay has found himself on the bench in recent weeks and has only managed to score two goals in 18 Premier League games for Louis van Gaal’s side so far this term.

However, former United wide man Kanchelskis is convinced of Depay’s quality and his backing the 21-year-old to come good at Old Trafford.

Speaking exclusively to 888Sport.com, Kanchelskis said: “He is a very good player. He’s a skilful winger with good crossing ability and a great change of pace.

“He has the potential to become the best winger in the world.”
