Anthony Martial is full of praise for Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney

Anthony Martial has admitted that he is learning on a daily basis by playing alongside Wayne Rooney for Manchester United.

The French striker has been a regular fixture in the Manchester United first-team since arriving at the club from Monaco in the summer transfer window.

Martial has scored six goals and made three assists in 20 Premier League games for Louis van Gaal’s men so far this term to help them up to fifth place in the top-flight table.

The 20-year-old has revealed that he is gaining more and more confidence by playing alongside the England captain regularly and is full of admiration for the United skipper.

Martial told United’s website: “It’s always nice, it allows me to keep improving and also to feel more relaxed when playing alongside him.

“When you see someone like Rooney, you feel that bit more confident.”

Martial will be hoping to feature when United return to Premier League action with a trip to Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils are currently six points adrift of the top four heading into the final 13 games of the season.
