Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger singles out Man United star for special praise
Arsene Wenger is a big fan of Manchester United star Anthony Martial
Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is a keen admirer of Anthony Martial following the striker’s summer transfer to Manchester United.
Martial has been one of United’s most consistent performers in an otherwise disappointing season for the Red Devils following his arrival at Old Trafford from Monaco in the summer transfer window.
The French striker has been a regular fixture in Louis van Gaal’s first team this season since announcing himself to the Old Trafford faithful with his stunning goal in the 3-1 win over Liverpool back in September.
Arsenal boss Wenger has revealed that he is a big fan of the forward, while also admitting that he was somewhat surprised that Monaco opted to sell him last summer.
Wenger is quoted as saying by the Independent: “He’s a player who can make a difference from anywhere.
“He can take a ball in the middle of the park, take it past two or three players and create differences.”
“He has had a big impact at Manchester United, and over a longer distance it will be a fantastic buy. I was surprised when Monaco sold him so quickly because if you had kept him one year more he would not, at 20, have lost any [value].”
