Ian Wright has warned Manchester United’s teenager sensation Marcus Rashford that the hard work only begins now after his brilliant Premier League debut on Sunday.

The 18-year-old scored twice in the first half as the Red Devils eased to a dramatic 3-2 victory over bitter rivals Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Rashford was handed his first Premier League start after the United teenager scored two goals on his Red Devils debut on Thursday night, helping Louis van Gaal’s side seal a 5-1 victory over FC Midtjylland in the Europa League last 32.

Former Gunners striker Wright believes Rashford has a great chance of blossoming into a top striker if he can stay focused in the coming months after his whirlwind start to life as a United first-team player.

“To come on and score for Manchester United, we have seen it happen before,” Wright told Match Of The Day 3.

“It is up for him now. He has to work on his strengths and weaknesses at a club like that. He has to try and stay focused. If he can start like he has at a club like United, he has a magnificent chance.”

The Red Devils are in fifth place and three points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
