Arsenal suffer serious injury blow ahead of Man United trip – report

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered knee and ankle injuries during Arsenal's loss to Barcelona, according to rerpots

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering ankle and knee injuries during Arsenal’s Champions League loss to Barcelona, according to reports.

The Gunners midfielder came off worse in a hefty challenge with Javier Mascherano late in the first half of Barca’s 2-0 win at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

The midfielder emerged for the second half but was soon limping and was eventually replaced by Theo Walcott in north London.

Now, the Daily Mail is reporting that Oxlade-Chamberlain has suffered both ankle and knee injuries, putting his hopes of featuring for England at Euro 2016 in doubt.

The news will come as a setback for Arsenal, who are currently preparing to turn their attentions back to Premier League affairs and their trip to Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has made 22 Premier League appearances for the north London club so far this season, scoring one goal for the Gunners.
