Andres Iniesta’s warning ahead of Arsenal v Barcelona
Andres Iniesta warns his Barcelona team-mates that they will have to be at their best to stop Arsenal on Tuesday
Andres Iniesta has warned his Barcelona team-mates that they will have to be at their best if they want to stop Arsenal ahead of Tuesday’s crunch Champions League clash.
The Spanish champions head to Emirates Stadium looking to take a step towards reaching the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition.
Arsenal are bidding to reach the last eight for the first time since 2010 and know that they are set to have their work cut out against the La Liga giants.
However, Barcelona midfielder Iniesta insists that he and his team-mates must be wary of the threat posed by the Gunners in north London.
Speaking to Arsenal’s website, Iniesta said: “Arsenal are known for having a style of play, a way of understanding football through having the ball
“I also think that the type of players that their coach or that Arsenal look for are very similar.
“I think their strong spots are their quality, their talent and the way they play. The way they attack, they way they combine. I think they’re a very dangerous opponent in that sense.”
Arsenal have lost only two of their last 18 matches in all competitions heading into Tuesday’s game, winning 11 of them.
Barcelona are 32 matches unbeaten in all competitions since a 2-1 loss to Sevilla on 3 October.
Mesut Ozil faced Barcelona 16 times as a Real Madrid player.
