Glenn Hoddle is tipping Barcelona to edge to victory over Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie

Glenn Hoddle is backing Barcelona to edge to a narrow victory over Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday night.

The Gunners have only managed to win one of their last seven meetings with the La Liga side in the Champions League.

Robin van Persie and Andrey Arshavin cancelled out David Villa’s opener to secure a 2-1 win at the Emirates Stadium before Barcelona were 3-1 winners at Camp Nou.

Former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Hoddle believes Luis Enrique’s side will beat Arsene Wenger’s men in north London.

“I’m going for a 3-1 win for Barcelona,” Hoddle told Unibet.

The Barcelona manager netted for the Catalan side in a 1-1 draw in Spain in the Champions League group-stage in 1999.
