Ray Parlour looks ahead to Arsenal's Champions League clash with Barcelona at The Emirates on Tuesday

Ray Parlour believes that Arsenal are likely to shut up shop and produce a resilient defensive performance when they take on Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Tuesday night.

The Gunners are preparing to welcome the Spanish champions to The Emirates as they bid to take a step towards reaching the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition.

Arsenal face the daunting task of a trip to Camp Nou for the return leg of the tie on Wednesday 16 March.

And former Arsenal midfielder believes that the key to progression for the north London side will be producing a disciplined display at The Emirates on Tuesday night.

Parlour told BT Sport on Saturday morning: “It’s all about having a chance in the second leg. You’ve got to go to the Nou Camp with a chance.

“The front three Barcelona have got is amazing, Suarez, Messi, Neymar – the way their playing…

“It will be very interesting to see how he sets his team up, Arsene Wenger.”

Arsenal head into the game on the back of their frustrating goalless draw with Hull City in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

The north London side are currently third in the Premier League.
