Robbie Savage states his prediction for Arsenal v Barcelona

Robbie Savage looks ahead to Arsenal's Champions League showdown with Barcelona on Tuesday

Robbie Savage believes that Arsenal stand no chance of beating Barcelona over two legs to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

The Gunners are preparing to welcome the Spanish champions to Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night as they host the La Liga giants in the first leg of the last-16 tie.

Arsenal head into the game looking to return to winning ways after the disappointment of their goalless draw with Hull City in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

And although former Derby County midfielder Savage believes that Arsenal are capable of getting a result in the home leg, he is expecting the Gunners to be “blown away” in the return leg in Spain.

Speaking on BT Sport on Saturday morning, Savage said: “I think they could spring a surprise and beat them at The Emirates, or get a result, but I think in the Nou Camp they will get blown away.

“I reckon that away from home, with that [Barcelona] front three, I could see 3-0 or 4-0.”

He added: “Let’s get it right – they’re going to get beaten. We can talk about it all day long but their going to get beaten.”
