Benik Afobe sends Twitter message to Arsenal fans and Olivier Giroud

Benik Afobe used his Twitter account to say thanks to some familiar faces on Sunday

Benik Afobe has taken to social media to pay tribute to Arsenal and Bournemouth’s fans after Sunday’s 2-0 win for the Gunners.

Goals from Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain wrapped up the three points for Arsene Wenger’s men as they returned to winning ways in the top flight.

Afobe, who came through Arsenal’s youth system and recently signed for Bournemouth from Wolves, was afforded a warm reception from both sets of fans in Sunday’s game.

And the striker used his Twitter account to thank the supporters for their support after the game.

Afobe tweeted:

The striker went on to thank Olivier Giroud for his shirt and words of support after the final whistle.

He added:

Sunday’s result left Arsenal in third place in the Premier League table and five points behind leaders Leicester City heading into next week’s clash with the Foxes at The Emirates.
