John Barnes states his prediction for Chelsea v Man City

John Barnes is tipping a 1-1 draw between Chelsea and Manchester City on Sunday afternoon in the FA Cup

John Barnes believes that Manchester City are on course to hold Chelsea to a 1-1 draw in the FA Cup at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The Citizens have had a free week to prepare for their trip to west London following their disappointing 2-1 defeat by Tottenham last weekend.

Chelsea, meanwhile, were beaten 2-1 by Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash in the French capital on Tuesday night.

City will be desperate to return to winning ways after their back to back defeats in the Premier League by Leicester and Spurs.

However, former Liverpool star Barnes reckons that Sunday’s game will end in a draw to force a replay at The Etihad in the FA Cup fifth-round clash.

Writing in his blog for Titanbet, Barnes said: “An interesting game, this one.

“Manchester City have Champions League and the League Cup final following the game and Chelsea have looked a better side in recent weeks.

“I can see them cancelling one another out and taking this to a replay.”

Chelsea have shown signs of improvement since Guus Hiddink’s appointment as interim boss and thrashed Newcastle 5-1 in their most recent home game.
