Michael Owen states his prediction for Chelsea v Newcastle

Michael Owen looks ahead to Chelsea's Premier League clash with Newcastle United on Saturday

Michael Owen is expecting to see Chelsea return to winning ways when they host Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

The Blues head into the game on the back of their 1-1 draw with Manchester United in west London last weekend, as Diego Costa netted a late equaliser to earn Guus Hiddink’s men a point.

Chelsea have been struggling to find consistent form all season and are currently languishing in 13th place in the Premier League table after winning the title at a canter last term.

However, former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Owen is expecting to see the Blues claim the three points against the Magpies in west London this weekend.

Writing in his blog for Bet Victor, Owen said: “Newcastle were good value for their win against the Baggies at St James’s Park last weekend but they will find reigning champions Chelsea a different proposition, despite the fact that the Magpies have taken more points off Chelsea (13) than any other team in the last five years.”
