Daniel Sturridge has his say on Liverpool transfer speculation
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge insists he is happy at Anfield despite reported West Ham interest
Daniel Sturridge insists he is happy at Liverpool despite transfer speculation linking the striker with a summer move.
The England international started successive games for the first time under Jurgen Klopp last week, although Sturridge was unable to score in a goalless draw with Augsburg in the Europa League.
Sturridge did, however, net in the preceding game as Liverpool were emphatic 6-0 winners against Premier League strugglers Aston Villa at Villa Park.
The 26-year-old has endured a string of injury problems over the past 18 months which has prompted talk of Liverpool possibly selling the former Chelsea striker.
According to the latest reports in the British media, West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic is eyeing a double swoop for Christian Benteke and Sturridge in the summer.
However, the Liverpool striker reiterated his continued commitment to the five-time European champions.
“I am looking forward to the future at Liverpool. I am happy here,” Sturridge told his pre-match media conference at Melwood on Wednesday afternoon.
Sturridge could feature in Liverpool’s second leg clash against Augsburg in the Europa League on Thursday night.
