Roy Evans is hoping Liverpool can secure the League Cup trophy on Sunday afternoon
Roy Evans has issued a Liverpool rallying cry ahead of Sunday’s League Cup final against Manchester City.
The former Liverpool manager guided the Merseyside outfit to League Cup glory in 1995 when the eight-time winners secured a 2-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers at Wembley.
The Reds have won three of their last four games against the Citizens in all competitions ahead of the Capital One Cup showpiece.
Former Liverpool boss Evans, who stood down in 1998 and was replaced by Gerard Houllier, sent a message to the 18-time English champions via Twitter.
Down at Wembley with @LFCTV hope all Reds have a great day and we've got Some silverware to celebrate later. Come on you reds.
