Garth Crooks comments on Aaron Ramsey’s display in Bournemouth v Arsenal
Garth Crooks was impressed by Aaron Ramsey's performance in Arsenal's 2-0 win at Bournemouth on Sunday
Garth Crooks has described Aaron Ramsey’s performance in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Sunday as “outstanding”.
The Wales midfielder was named man of the match as he helped Arsene Wenger’s men return to winning ways in the top flight at the Vitality Stadium.
Mesut Ozil put Arsenal 1-0 up with a close-range shot midway through the first half, before Ramsey set up Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for the Gunners’ second goal against the Cherries moments later.
Ramsey has faced plenty of criticism for his performances for Arsenal in the past, but Crooks was full of praise for the midfielder as he named him in his team of the weekend.
Crooks told BBC Sport: “This was a game that was over in 25 minutes.
“Arsenal looked like a team recovering from a sticky patch and did what had to be done in order to win a football match and remain in touch with the league leaders.
“Aaron Ramsey’s performance against Bournemouth was the one outstanding feature in an otherwise routine performance without any of Arsenal’s usual skills and frills.”
Ramsey has been a regular fixture in Arsenal’s first-team so far this season, scoring four goals and making three assists in 21 Premier League games.
The 25-year-old will be hoping to feature when the north London side host Premier League leaders Leicester City at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
