Glenn Hoddle has named Tottenham Hotspur as the Premier League club with the best chance of winning the Europa League this season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side reached the Europa League last 16 after an impressive 3-0 win against Fiorentina in their second leg at White Hart Lane on Thursday night.

Tottenham were pitted against Jurgen Klopp’s former club Borussia Dortmund in Friday’s Europa League last-16 draw.

Speaking to ITV Sport on Thursday night, Hoddle tipped Tottenham to outperform Liverpool and Manchester United in the latter stages of the competition.

“Out of the English teams, they’ve got the best chance,” Hoddle said.

“I wanted them to stay in the FA Cup but the fact that they’ve gone out of it now, they’ll focus 100 per cent on the Europa League and they’re still in for the league.

“It could be a good thing that they went out of the FA Cup.”

Tottenham switch their focus back to the Premier League on Sunday afternoon when Spurs host Swansea City at White Hart Lane.

The north London side are in second place in the Premier League table and two points behind leaders Leicester City.
